Logan-Thompson PC proudly announces that Tim Hewitt has been chosen as a new shareholder in our firm. Hewitt is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law and joined Logan Thompson in August of 2019 following a six-year criminal defense career with the Knox County Public Defender’s office. Hewitt will continue to work with the Logan Thompson Criminal Defense Team, specifically Kenneth Miller and Jimmy Logan, to continue Logan Thompson’s reputation as one of the most effective criminal defense firms in Southeast Tennessee.
Shareholder Phil Jacobs has known Hewitt for many years and recruited him to join Logan-Thompson, “Tim has been a significant asset to our firm and the community over the past four years. He has served our clients well and has allowed Logan Thompson to continue to provide great service to the community.”
Hewitt has resolved hundreds of cases and obtained multiple favorable jury verdicts in highly publicized cases. Hewitt has also served as a District Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, winning awards for spearheading pro bono expungement and driver’s license restoration clinics. Hewitt is a 2023 graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law class. Hewitt serves on the Ethics Committee of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In August of 2023, Hewitt received TACDL’s Stars of Light award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and zealous advocacy for his clients. Hewitt served from 2021 to 2022 as president of the Bradley County Bar Association.
Senior partner James F. Logan, Jr. stated, “One of my greatest pleasures has been to mentor young lawyers who I now call partners Robert Thompson, Matt Coleman, and Phil Jacobs. With the help of Kenneth Miller, we will continue to mentor and work alongside Tim as we strive to represent our clients and serve the community in the Greater Southeast Region.” Hewitt is married to Mary Catherine, and they have three children: Greer, Ella, and Carlyle.
